Fire Heritage
The College is home to a collection of vintage fire appliances
consisting of six manual and four steamers and an impressive
collection of art work including 'Saved' by Charles Vigor.
This painting produced circa 1890 is perhaps the best known example
of fire art in the world.
The Sculpture at the entrance to the College reception was a
special commission by Robert Adams of a Phoenix, the
mythological bird which can be reborn from its own ashes. The
Sculpture is best viewed at sunset when an image of the
phoenix can be seen through the reflection of light on
the folds of steel.
